Dr. T.S. Park has perfected a life-changing surgery to help improve the mobility of children with cerebral palsy. Here are a list of comments that can be found on the SDR noticeboard on Facebook.
Jessica Vandiver My son is 5 and he had SDR in July 2009! He has Spastic Quad. and the surgery has given him amazing results, nothing perfect but he can do so much more and he is so much happier!!!! SDR was the greatest thing I could have ever done for him
Tiffany Norris Hey everyone! My daughter is 3 y.o. with spastic diplegia CP. Dr. Park performed the SDR on her just 4 months ago in July! We are getting ready to return for our 4 month post op on the 14th of this month. The results so far have been amazing & incredible!
Renee Arnold-Alexander Ty is our son who had SDR surgery when he was 2 1/2 years of age...he is now 5 1/2. This surgery has proven to be miraculous. Ty was a toe walker and fell down after every 3 to 4 steps. Today, he walks flat footed and the normal person cannot even tell that he has any sort of disability. We continue to go to physic...al therapy and probably will for life. His Pt is continually impressed with his constant progress and his strength. We are so thankful to have found Dr Park.
Heather Cleveland Sapp Hi! My daughter Samantha is coming up on 2 years post op in March. She was 3 when she had the surgery. She could not walk or stand unaided. She can now walk barefoot unaided. She is still more wobly then other children her age but her balance and gait keep improving.
Melanie Faville Our son Andrew has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy. After years of PT, OT, Botox, AFOs, Stretching, Strengthening etc, Andrew underwent SDR with Dr. Park when he was 3. He is now 6 and doing great
Sarah Mechler OUr daughter Jasmine had the SDR with Dr. Park in Aug. '08. She was walking with forearm crutches and once in a while, unassisted, before. Now she walks, runs, and even jumps. We doubted we'd ever see any of this before surgery.
Robin Popp Corbett My son Nicholas had the surgery in August 2007 at age 4 1/2, he is now almost 7. It was scary, but has definitely been worth it!! He was so loose after the surgery, he put his foot in his lap in his car seat on our way home from the hospital!! He could never do that before. It was a long road strengthening him back ...up after the surgery, but now he is walking everywhere
Stephani Matthews My little boy Hunter, 3, had this surgery in April. He is doing so well!!! No more spasticity in his legs! He is up walking on a walker, has markedly improved posture, balance, and coordination! When Hunter was finally able to have this surgery we did not hesitate for a second. We have been so happy with our decis...ion. He continues to get stronger every day and look forward to some independent walking over the next few years!
Shawn Allen Our son had this surgery when he was 4. His movement became so much easier. It was like someone set him free. He recovered amazingly fast. He is now 11 and doing great. Deciding to do the surgery was very difficult for me - very frightning but the Lord got us through it and we are so glad we did it.
Alicia Ross We LOVE Dr Park and the St Louis Children's Hospital. My twins had the surgery in August of 2005 and life each year gets better and better for us. Dr. Park is so genuine and precious. I would move to St. Louis in a heartbeat now...we fell in love with the hospital, the people, and the entire city! We have been there... a total of three times and we were so sad when we were released from Dr. Park's care. He is truly an awesome man and he has been so blessed to be able to be so passionate about our children and this surgery. Thank you Dr. Park and thank you to your awesome staff and the St. Louis Children's Hospital!!!
